FAQ Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: When should I order my cake?A: We would suggest you book in advance four to six months for wedding cakes and at least one month for your sculptured cakes. However, last minute orders can be accommodated; therefore it's very important to schedule an appointment.Q: Do you offer stastings?A: Yes. Tasting must be scheduled at the time you call to book your cake consultation. It will cost a fee of $25.00 that will be subtracted from your total order should you choose to order with Blue Ivy Cakery. This sample will be of cakes made in the shop that week along with fillings and buttercream. Tastings are available for cake orders over 100 servings. If tasting is required for a smaller cake order, a Tasting Cake maybe ordered for $15.00 (serves 6-8 servings) . However, this cost will not be deducted from your total order.Q: How much can I expect to pay for my cake?A: Generally cakes price range from $3.00 - $15.00 per serving (wedding cakes)/$2.50 up for party cakes. There is a minimum $200.00 for sculpture cakes depending on the number of servings and complexity of design.Q: What is your payment policy and what type of payments do you accept?A: To book or secure your wedding/event date, a non-refundable (should you later cancel) booking deposit of $25 is required. Then 50% at the time of signing a contract/order. The balance is due no later than seven days prior to delivery. Your $25 will go towards your cake tasting/order. All orders less than three (3) weeks is considered rush and payment is due in full at the time of booking. You may pay for your orders using cash, check, Visa, Master Card or online via PayPal.Q: Do you deliver your cakes and what is the cost?A: Yes. Cakes deliverd within Broward and Miami-Dade Counties is $20.00. Deliveries outside of these counties start at $50.00 which depends on the size of cake and distance. All wedding cakes and sculptured cakes are delivery only.Q. Are you insured and inspected by the State Health Department?A: We are insured and our cakes are baked in a Cottage Food Opearation that is not subject to Florida's Food Safety Regulations in accordance with Section 500.80, Florida Statutes.

I am Jeanette "Baking Jeannie" Jackson and I have been baking for over 30 years but fell in love with cake decorating seven years ago when I realized it brought out the artist in me. I majored in Food and Nutrition in high school and later studied Accounting and Management in college, however, it was my love to cook and bake which caused my family and friends to encourage me to start a business doing one of the things I love so much.I love working with fondant and sugarpaste because it's such a versitile medium to create many of the cakes I have designed. My all time fave is making sugarpaste flowers and decorative pieces because I feel inside my God given talent coming through with the application of colors and shaping the paste. I called this my "happy moment" experiencing a part of who God made me to be - it's a spiritual thing for me. So every cake or sugar piece I decorate and create for my clients it is done with great unspeakable joy! Baking is a science, but cake decorating is an art which I love.Along with my loving hubby, Henry, we started Blue Ivy Company in 2008. He has been one of my loudest cheerleader with my Church family, Mom, sisters and friends. In 2011 we welcome Chef Deloraine Wellington, who came and added her European-style, chocolate skills and alternative lifestyle baking as a 'Delicious Blessings' to the business.In heaven there will be milk and honey so God is into sweet things too .
